Oh my goodness this week has been a real adventure! This week we ventured around downtown all week. It was something else. We got lost a couple times and it is safe to say my companion was not happy with me when we walked past the same street three times! Needless to say it was fun and worth the adventure.
Other good news is Sister Smith is staying in the area. So we are working on getting her ready to take over the area in 6 weeks. It is weird saying that still. I feel like I just got here!!!
We have gone downtown a lot this transfer so we are pretty much out of miles already so we decided to man up and ride the bus even though we had no idea which buses we needed to get on. It helped us talk to a lot of people though. Everyone is willing to help you find your way around and then we sat by them and talked about being missionaries and such. It is a great finding activity. However it is not the best idea to pick the only day it downpours to ride the bus. Well we made that mistake and walked through tons and tons of puddles. It was cold and wet, but we didn't let that stop us. We found a few new people to teach just by walking around in the rain. Dewitt was one of the coolest guys we talked to. We invited him to be baptized without teaching him anything about the restored gospel and he said he needs to be baptized and will read the book of mormon. Well once again we found a perfect person to teach, but they don't live in our area. I think we will be doing that a lot and helping other missionaries to have people to teach!
We had great puddle adventures though. Downtown floods like nobody's business. My favorite was trying to walk on the sidewalk and avoid getting splashed by the cars driving by. The biggest puddle we walked through almost came up to my knees. It was the best time and a great conversation starter. Everything about us was wet. Sadly even my scriptures got pretty wet, but we were able to keep Sister Smith's pretty dry which makes the day a success. Even though we were cold and wet the entire day it was one of the best days we had this week. I have never felt like such a real missionary until then trying to talk to everyone in the rain and just keep going. I hope to make everyday that I have left feel like that.
We also had a great time at the beacon again this week. There were 8 of us there is week and it was a party. The Hermanas came with us and we had a great dance party. It is nice to talk to people and just serve them. I love thinking about Christ and how he surrounded himself with the most humble people around. When we go we can really feel the love that the Savior has for each one of them and it is amazing to be able to serve them by doing simple things like their laundry.
We had one of the best district meetings this week as well. We had amazing talks that everyone participated in and then we started to go over accountability and found out the district as a whole is struggling so we decided we needed to change that. We had a district inventory just like the good old days in Friendswood. We talked about our struggles and how to help each other. It was a really long meeting, but I have never felt so unified as a whole district. We have seen so many miracles come from it already. We hope to spread the fire in the district to the whole mission!
Well peeps pray that we figure out the bus system soon! It is fun to talk to people around but it would also be nice to walk less getting lost from one bus to the next! I hope you all have a great week. Stay dry and the advice I have this week is take an umbrella with you even though you have a rain jacket because you will still get really wet! Keep your scriptures dry it is the way our Father in Heaven speaks with us! I love you all!

Just a small puddle we walked through!

YAY for the rain!
